The grapes produced in Ergenekon vineyards and from the plants we produce belong to high quality clones and therefore have the potential to produce higher quality wines when compared to the other clones of the same variety. Our grapes carry the most typical properties of their varieties in terms of aroma, taste and colour. To get information on the viticultural and oenological characteristics of these grapes, please read the information below pertaining to the grape variety you are interested in.

Papazkarasi: Has the potential to produce high quality dry red wines with body and dark colour.

Cabernet Sauvignon: It is a dark-coloured and thick skinned grape. Its wines are high in tannin, are powerful and can age well. Its typical aromas are blackcurrant, cedar wood, cigar box, green pepper, mint, marmalade, dark chocolate, tobacco and black olives.

Merlot: Its wines have silky tannins and are fruity. Prune, mint and rose are the typical aromas of this wine.

Shiraz: The wines of this grape are typically dark colured and powerful. They are full bodied and high in alchohol. They have the potential to age, but at the same time are suitable for early consumption. It has aromas like raspberry, blackberry, prune, red grapes, black pepper, spices, leather, game and tar.

Grenache: The wines of Grenache are potentially high in alchohol, fruity and easy to drink with tobacco, black pepper, grass and raspberry aromas. When grown on poor soil like that of the Ergenekon Vineyards, and when ripens fully, gives dark coloured wines that can age well.

Cabernet Franc: The wines of Cabernet Franc possess soft tannins, they are spicy with strong black pepper, tobacco and sometimes vegetal aromas.

Chardonnay: Under the climatic conditions of the Ergenekon vineyards, Chardonnay makes rich and powerful wines with aromas of green apple, pear, melon, pineapple, peach, citrus, honey and linden.

Sauvignon Blanc: This variety has given very good results in the Galipoli peninsula. Its wines are powerful, crisp and quite dry. Grass, gooseberry, asparagus, green beans are among its typical aromas.

The sale of our grapes from the 2006 harvest was completed in 1-4 September 2006.
